Jones, who has performed at the Savannah Stopover Music Festival, and Nicole Atkins, who has released “Saturday” and has announced spring tour, recently collaborated to release “Burden”. This single release also follows The Bones of J.R. Jones’ announced his third studio album, Ones To Keep Close.
Ones To Keep Close is set for release on May 11th. As mentioned by the press release, this album is a crisp, 11-track collection of stomp-along songs produced in Brooklyn.
“Burden” is the leading single featuring Nicole Atkins. The song has a lighthearted quick repetitive beat that makes a overall happy tone. This contradicts the lyrics of the song as the words speaks about the emotional isolation that is experienced while on tour. The song can be listened to below.
