If there was someone to be discovered for their true talent and nothing else, then Maggie Rogers is that artist. During a class in which Pharrell Williams was a guest speaker, the aforementioned musician was able to play her musical homework assignment for Williams. After the entirety of Rogers’ piece, Pharrell’s face had nothing but pleasure and joy, which was accompanied by some light head bobbing. Afterwards, he stated that he had no criticism to give Rogers as every part about that song brought everything forward that makes a musical work truly unique and beautiful.
Titled “Alaska,” the song grew in popularity and reached number 13 and 18 in the charts alongside her EP Now That the Light is Fading, which reached 39 and 4 as Top Rock Albums and Heatseekers Albums. With her audience growing drastically it was only short time until Maggie Rogers went out on tour.
