Beach House Announce New Album 7 for May 2018 Release

Dream pop duo Beach House just announced they will release a new record in May 2018. As Pitchfork as revealed, the record will be available through SubPop, Bella Union and Mistleone and it features two of the tracks already released as singles: Lemon Glow and Dive.

The album is titled 7 and marks the band’s latest release since 2015 when two albums were released Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars. Last year, however, a collection of tracks titled B-Sides and Rarities was released. The album included an interpretation of a Queen track (The Game) as well as other numbers.

According to Pitchfork, the duo decided to work on such project because they “realized just how many non-album songs had been made over the years, and how hard it was to find and hear many of them”.

The new record, however, features collaborations from Spacemen 3’s Sonic Boom and the band’s touring drummer James Barone. The tracklist includes titles such as Dark Spring, Drunk in LA, Lose Your Smile and Girl Of The Year and the artwork depicts the torn-apart face of a woman with the number 7 printed on it, perhaps the only recognizable thing in a chaotic, eccentric and bizarre design.

The band also announced a world tour which will begin next month in Chattanooga, TN at The Signal and will take the band throughout Northern America and Europe.
