mxdwn PREMIERE: Luke Winslow-King Announces New Album Blue Mesa for May 2018 Release and Shares New Song “Leghorn Women”

Luke Winslow-King is no newcomer to the world of Americana music. He’s been blending styles like jazz, folk, bluegrass, blues and rock since the early 00s. He’s back with a new album titled Blue Mesa and we’ve got the premiere of the first single from the record, a chunk of swamp blues chock full of boogieing rhythms and wailing guitar licks called “Leghorn Women.” Blue Mesa will be out on May 11 through Bloodshot Records – you can preorder it here.

While New Orleans is always coursing through the veins of Winslow-King, the record was cut a world away in Italy. Holed up in the fortress village of Lari in rural Tuscany, he worked with Italian blues guitarist Roberto Luti, Chris Davis of King James and the Special Men and Mike Lynch on organ.

Blue Mesa track list

1. You Got Mine
2. Leghorn Women
3. Blue Mesa
4. Born to Roam
5. Better for Knowing You

Winslow-King will be bringing his unique brand of New Orleans-inspired Americana music on the road this spring and summer. The tour starts on the east coast in May, stretching throughout the month and June as he heads west through the heartland. There are not any dates during July, but in August he’ll cross the Atlantic to bring real American music to Europe.
