Father John Misty Battles A Hotel Clerk In New Song “Mr. Tilllman”

According to Rolling Stone, Father John Misty has released another exciting music video in anticipation of his upcoming full-length album, which the artist has indicated will be coming out at some point this year. The music video for the song “Mr. Tillman” sees Father John Misty messing around superimposed stock images of hotels. While the song itself lasts for just over 3 minutes, the video is around 45 seconds worth of shots, with the rest of the time taken up by a placeholder image indicating the name of the song.

Musically speaking, “Mr. Tillman” rides a snappy drum beat along with some breezy piano playing, giving the whole affair a throwback, 60’s sounding pop sound. As usual, Father John Misty delivered a subtle yet moving set of lyrics, nailing a sturdy and melodic vocal line that is downright infectious. Of course, the name “Mr. Tillman” is a reference to Father John Misty, whose real name is Joshua Tillman. While the singer has previously released new songs,  such as the mystical short film “Leaving LA,” there has still not been any official word on when his new record will come out, despite the hints and song names, though one would imagine it will be relatively soon.
