The nostalgia of the 90’s and early 2000’s is beating through us with all these revivals and reissues. Now, through press release, the Grammy award winning rock kings The Smashing Pumpkins have announced their first tour in almost 20 years. The tour, called Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour, will feature members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha. The new tour is produced by Live Nation and will visit 36 cities beginning in Glendale, AZ on July 12, 2018. Not only will they visit smaller venues, but the tour will feature shows in larger venues and arenas across the United States. To get tickets for the Smashing Pumpkins’ Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour are on sale starting February 23 at 10am PST. In order to obtain tickets, visit their website here.
Corgan says that “Some 30 years ago, as The Smashing Pumpkins, James Iha and I began a musical journey in the cramped rear bedroom of my Father’s house. And so it’s magic to me that we’re able to coalesce once more around the incredible Jimmy Chamberlin, to celebrate those songs we’ve made together.”
The news about the Shiny And Oh So Bright Tour was released this morning through a beautiful video that featured the Siamese Dream album cover paramounts Ali Laenger and LySandra Roberts. Check out the video below.
The tour will also fall on the 30th anniversary of the band’s formation, which will allow their trip to highlight the music from the creation of the Smashing Pumpkins through 2000; featuring music from their albums Gish, Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, and Machina. Their guitarist Jeff Schroeder will also join the tour, making the band a three guitar lineup so as to access tones that they would otherwise be able to access. Check out the entire tour below.
