As reported by The PRP, British post-hardcore band Rolo Tomassi, who have been prepping the release of their new album Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It, which is set to be released on March 2nd, have unveiled a brand new music video for the song “Aftermath.” Directed by Zak Pinchi, the video depicts the band performing on a dark soundstage, with plenty of quick cross-cutting and lightning fast shots of each band member playing. Eventually, the frame begins to blur as flashing lights enter the shot and snow begins to fall on the band.
The cross-cutting shots perfectly match the grandeur and intensity of the music: which is yet another evolution in the band’s sound, combining distorted hardcore guitar chords with delicate piano and the soaring vocals of Eva Spence. It is a departure from some of their harder edged material as it contains only clean vocals, whereas most of their earlier work includes plenty of alternating vocal passages sung cleanly and sung with a hardcore rasp along with furious blast beats, warp speed tempos and blindly fast guitar figures. However, in this context “Aftermath” represents an exciting evolution for the band, proving that they can go outside of their comfort zone and try something completely different. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the group since 2015’s excellent Grievances and should be pleased with the new sound the band is rolling out for Time Will Die and Love Will Bury It.
