According to Pitchfork, Grimes confirms on Twitter that her new album is coming out later this year. On the sixth-year anniversary of Visions, her third studio album, which was released in 2012, and received the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year, she tweeted: “… a nu one out this year so 3 albums in 6 years is not a bad level of productivity”
In response to a fan asking about the new album’s release date, she said: “I would say spring but realistically, fall.”
Claire Elise Boucher, known by her stage name, Grimes, is a Canadian-born producer, songwriter, and visual artist. She has released four albums to this day. Her debut album, Geidi Primes, was released in 2010 on cassette tape in Canada, and in 2011 was released by No Pain in Pop Records on CD and LP in the UK. The album received a widespread positive reviews. In the same year, Boucher released her second album, Halfaxa. She described her album as “Medieval”, and it’s set to “evoke the feeling of believing in God in a very Medieval Christian way”.
Her latest album Art Angels, was praised by many critics. Metacritic gave the album a score of 88 out of 100. The album was also nominated for the Alternative Album of the Year and the Recording Package of the Year at 2017 Juno Awards.
