River Cuomo Of Weezer Joins Foo Fighters On Stage At Melbourne Australia Show To Perform Kiss Cover

In a time where covers are as coveted as original pieces of music, it is even more special when musical acts join together harmoniously for a special nostalgia-fueled night.

According to The Prp, on the last night of The Foo Fighters Australian tour, the band did just that. Amidst their set, Dave Grohl took time to introduce a special guest for their next song on stage. Joining the Foo Fighters on stage was none other than Rivers Cuomo (of Weezer) for a rare rendition of Kiss’ famous track “Detroit Rock City.”

In the video below we can see Grohl addressing the audience how this Australia tour feels like a reunion to the band as it has been a long while since they last played there. As soon as he notes that, Rivers Cuomo joins the Foo Fighters for an adrenaline-filled classic rock portrayal of one of Kiss’ most infamous songs. Cuomo takes the part of lead guitar and vocalist to the song while Grohl and the band act as backup for the Weezer frontman. There is even a lovely section of the guitars playing off each other, giving the audience the electricity felt between the members of Kiss in their hey-day.

Check out the footage below, which was filmed by a fan.
