Announcing their first live music performance tour in America, Pussy Riot gets all their U.S.A fans pumped with their first live music performing art’s tour.
The feminist art collective better known for their revolt against the re-election of Vladimir Putin, (the President of Russia) that led to a 2 year prison sentence for “hooliganism,” is set to take America by storm.
Besides Pussy Riot’s controversial headlines, they have been known for their amazing creativity and ever growing activism, while raising awareness by interlinking performing arts and a concert. For example their new music and video art, “I Can’t Breathe,” was their first song in English made in honor of Eric Garner, and worked to edify their fans and critics, of Garner’s unlawful killing.
With no fear to stand up against the status quo, other songs such as “Chaika” spoke about the corruption of the Russian prosecutor general. Following the same arguably unorthodox pattern, “Police State,” a song released at the end of last year, raised awareness on the crude state of police brutally arguably interlinking with other songs of theirs such as “Make America Great Again”.
Among their performances Pussy Riot creates messages that demands a call to action with an any means necessary attitude.
Art is just a small part of their mission, as seen in 2014. Since the release of the two members from prison the band has launches Mediazona, a free-of-censorship independent Russian media agency that focuses on law enforcement issues such as the conditions of prisons and the prosecuting of activist.
Supporters of Pussy Riot are amongst many advocates for the prison reform in Russia. Members of the Pussy Riot’s community chose to keep fighting for their humans rights.
One thing that’s for sure is the same energy Pussy Riot deliver on all their songs and endearing political activism, will be the same energy they deliver to their U.S tour.
