Max Clarke, who recently released a very promising EP Alien Sunset under his stage name Cut Worms, has shared a brand new song called “Till Tomorrow Goes Away.” The song is produced by Jason Finkel, The song is a four-minute sampling of laid-back Americana-influenced acoustic guitar figures along with a simple yet appealing vocal melody.
The sound is reminiscent of the Beatles’ transition from palatable pop-rock in the early 60s to more challenging psychedelia with subsequent releases like Rubber Soul and Revolver. However, unlike most retro-influenced music “Till Tomorrow Goes Away” has a certain timelessness to it and feels very relevant today.
Cut Worms’ EP was released in October of 2017 and instantly caught the attention of the music press. The album represents his life in two different cities, the first side being written while he lived in Chicago and the second while he was a resident of New York City. It was released on the venerable indie label Jagjaguwar, and a full-length studio album is also in the works for Cut Worms, expected out sometime in 2018. Much of the album is produced by Jonathan Rado, best known for being half of the founding core of Southern California pysch-pop group Foxygen. For the time being, you can catch him touring along with fellow roots-influenced rocker Marlon Williams in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The rest of the world will just have to wait patiently for another taste of Cut Worms.
