Earlier last month, the metal supergroup Legend of the Seagullmen (composed of Mastodon frontman Brent Hinds, Tool drummer Danny Carey, OFF! guitarist Dimitri Coats, Jonah Hex guitarist Jimmy Hayward, Zappa Meets Zappa bassist Peter Griffin, synthesizer player Chris DiGiovanni and vocalist David ‘The Doctor’ Dreyer), announced their official debut record and concept of “ship wrecks and giant mutant squid” set to “rock ‘n’ roll hymns of epic proportions.”

Today, they’ve released the title-track,”Legend of the Seagullmen,” full of all the “nautical rock with deep lore” that lead-vocalist David ‘The Doctor’ Dreyer last described in a press release. The supergroup previously released the track “Shipwreck,” as well as the album artwork and tracklist for the record, and put on a special New Year’s Eve performance opening for Primus as their first massive show.
