Jawbreaker Has Gear and Digital Masters Stolen From Storage

Jawbreaker has been robbed of their equipment. In a Facebook post, the band had released statement saying that their storage space was broken into in the range December 7, 2017 and January 10, 2018. This follows the band’s release of the remastered and remixed 1989 demo.

Jawbreaker is an American punk rock band that has reunited that was active from 1986 to 1996, and restarted in 2017. After 21 years of separation, the band announced that they were going to have a headlining performance at Chicago’s Riot Fest. The band had also announced a gig to get themselves ready for the fest at the Ivy Room in Albany, California. In this gig, the band performed songs such as “The Boat Dreams From the Hill” and “Condition Oakland”.

According to Pitchfork, the band had listed all the equipment that was stolen, including two “precious” items: Blake Schwarzenbach’s torn 1996 Reissue 1959 SLP, and Adam Pfahler’s 1989 Yamaha snare. The incident occurred at Extra Space Storage in Emeryville, California, and the band has asked for North Californians to look out for these two “precious items”.  Other items that have been lost are mid-70s Ludwig Vistalite snare, 1966 Ludwig maple snare (marine pearl wrap), 1966 Ludwig 13″ rack tom (marine pearl wrap), and 1966 Ludwig Supraphonic snare drum.
