Preoccupations Announce New Album New Material for March 2018 Release

After an impressive two year stretch in support of their self-titled release, which included an incredible performance at last year’s Coachella Festival, Preoccupations have released details for a new album, New Material which is set to drop on March 23rd on Jagjaguwar records. The group self-produced the album themselves but teamed with the legendary Justin Meldal-Johnson, known for his work with Paramore and as Beck’s musical director, and it shows on the new single “Espionage.” The track recalls classic post-punk such as Joy Division and New Order with its eerie synths, driving rhythms, and dark vocals. The song would not feel out of place in some long forgotten 80’s teen drama or in the newest season of Stranger Things. There is a dark, sinister vibe to the song as its flat production values and claustrophobic vocals give it a quality that few modern groups have.

The band has also announced a tour that will see them performing all across North America and Europe, where fans can expect the group to continue to develop a reputation as one of the most exciting live acts in the entire rock underground.

You can listen to “Espionage” in the player below.

New Material tracklist:
1. Espionage
2. Decompose
3. Disarray
4. Manipulation
5. Antidote
6. Solace
7. Doubt
8. Compliance
