Erika Wennerstrom of Heartless Bastards Announces New Solo LP Sweet Unknown for March 2018 Release

Erika Wennerstrom, known for her work as the lead singer of the rock band Heartless Bastards has announced her debut solo record, Sweet Unknown, which is set to be released on March 23rd via Partisan Records. Wennerstrom has assured fans that her main band is not breaking up but that she is merely taking a break to explore more personal themes and songs.

The album is inspired by the experiences Wennerstrom has had over the course of the past couple of years, including a trip into the Amazon rainforest in 2015. Musically speaking Sweet Unknown treads in the same familiar sonic territory as the Heartless Bastards, albeit with a more significant emphasis on Wennerstrom’s smokey, bluesy vocal delivery.

Wennerstrom has shared the first single from the album in the form of the song “Extraordinary Love” which rolls on a jazzy drum beat and plenty of full-throated guitar licks. Wennerstrom will be taking her solo music on tour this spring as she supports Drive-By Truckers on a short fourteen date tour of the East Coast and Midwest.
