Power Trip and Sheer Mag Announce Spring 2018 Tour Dates

Power Trip

With two names like Power Trip and Sheer Mag in the title, I pity those who did not choose to click on this article. The thrash metal/crossover act and Philadelphia punk and power pop outfit have announced that they will be teaming up through May and June for a phenomenal tour across the continental United States.

The tour is mainly a celebratory run for Power Trip and their widely acclaimed breakthrough album Nightmare Logic, which even earned its place on numerous Top 10 lists across various music websites. That being said, Sheer Mag has had an equally amazing year, along with the release of the band’s debut full-length LP Need To Feel Your Love, complete with the band’s signature political lyrics and catchy guitar riffs.

Alongside Sheer Mag, California hardcore band Fury and D.C. hardcore group Red Death will be topping off the bill, creating a lineup that, though differs from Power Trip’s previous Obituary and Cannibal Corpse tours, fluidly meshes hardcore, metal and punk.

The tour kicks off April 27 in Jacksonville, Fla. as part of the Welcome to Rockville festival, and heads into Ft. Lauderdale for Fort Rock. From there, Sheer Mag and the other bands join on for a headlining date at Atlanta’s Masquerade. The tour hits a variety of dates throughout North America, including a healthy amount of dates in Canada and a stop at Rock on the Range. The tour ends in the band’s home state of Texas in Austin on June 7.
