Rock fans have been waiting, watching time tick slowly by for a new album from their favorite band, A Perfect Circle. Since October of 2017, they have been dealt with two brand new songs from the group and yet no release date. The album was said to be out in November of 2017 but was pushed back to an undetermined date in 2018.
But the wait may be coming to an end.
The fourth studio album by A Perfect Circle is on the horizon and should be expected to come out to the public in these new few months with an April-June release date. This is coming from Billy Howerdel, guitarist of the band, who recently spoke out of their album progress on a recent episode of “2 Hours With Matt Pinfield.”
According to Howerdell, this is where they’re at with it:
“We are gonna be finished imminently. I’d say in the next several weeks we will be done with this record. But everything exponentially happened quicker and quicker towards the end. I think we’re just getting my studio back on from being on the road.”
He continued with, “We are certainly past the halfway point, and I’d say Maynard’s [James Keenan, vocals] probably further along than I am musically. At least with the finished tracks. The songs are there, but there’s tidying up to do there on some stuff there.”
And when pressed for a release date, Howerdel replies: “Well, the second quarter is when we’ve always been on track to put out this album.”
Earlier this month, the band released “Disillusioned,” which following the track, “The Doomed,” shared last October. Fans of A Perfect Circle have been waiting for a new record since 2004, and with these latest comments and concrete evidence, their wait may be worth it.
The lineup for A Perfect Circle has remained unchanged since forming in 2013. The rock supergroup Coming consists of both Keenan (the frontman of Tool) and Howedell, also coming for the ride are James Iha (co-founded the Smashing Pumpkins) on rhythm guitar, Matt McJunkins on bass and Jeff Friedl on drums.
Besides the new year bringing new music from the band, they have also recently been added to the 2018 Coachella music festival’s lineup as well as performing a strew of European shows throughout the Summer.
