Sonny Smith Releases New Video for “Burnin’ Up” Featuring Angel Olsen

Sonny Smith has a new album coming out in March, and today he has shared a new song from the album called “Burnin’ Up.” The slow-burning song features the vocal contributions of none other than Angel Olsen, who also appears in the video that accompanies the song. Check it out below.

“I’ve been a fan of Sonny’s for a long time now,” said Olsen. “I was pretty busy traveling when we talked about me being in the vid for the song I sang on, but what can I say? I like the guy. And I don’t mean to be an ass or anything but I don’t want to be in all the videos of the songs I sing on. It’s not always my place. Maybe it’s still not.” She talks about coming home from a trip and hearing from the video director Ryan Daniel Browne, who made plans with Olsen to come to her apartment and shoot the video clip.”

This beautiful love song features a laid-back dynamic, with a chorus of twangy guitars and twinkling bells. The song will be a part of Rod For Your Love, which comes out March 2 on Dan Auerbach’s growing Easy Eye Sound record label.
