Angel Olsen Covers David Bowie’s “Five Years”

Angel Olsen covers “Five Years” by David Bowie. This follows the artist’s recent finishing of her Fall tour, release of music video for “Special”, and release of the album Phases.

According to Pitchfork, this cover took place during the Fall tour at the Charlottesville concert at the Jefferson Theater. “Five Years” is an opening track for Bowie’s 1972 The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

The clip of the cover was posted on Instagram. Olsen gives a powerful voice to the song similar to Bowie, as there’s an elevation in vocals given in the beginning. The video can be watched below.
