The Naked And Famous Releases New Acoustic Song “Last Forever (Stripped)”

Indie electronic pop group The Naked and Famous are back with another “new” song, an acoustic rendition of their single “Last Forever.” The original song was released as a part of their third LP Simple Forms. Released in October of 2016, the album included singles like “Higher” and “Lay Low.” The song comes from the New Zealand band’s upcoming acoustic album Stripped, which featured previous single “A Still Heart.”

Lead singer and guitarist Thom Powers explained the inspiration for the stripped-down album. “I think Elvis Costello is originally credited with saying something to the effect of, ‘You have your whole life to create your first album and one year to finish your follow-up.’ In that spirit, the band also acknowledges that if you are successful, audiences will expect acoustic versions of your music. “Seven years later, we decided to approach this as a creative challenge – an exercise in limitation.”

Lead singer Alisa Xayalith was featured on song from The Chain Gang of 1974, a track titled “Forget.”
