Animal Collective Release New Live Album at College Street Music Hall From May 26th

Animal Collective is one of those groups that has been an integral part of music since their birth, giving new ideas and paths to music that may have before been uncharted territories. They have been the band group eponymous with the experimental side of electronic music and has been thriving in their field. Even their solo efforts, most notably Panda Bear’s, have been extremely successful and have brought them to the forefront of the new age of electronic music. It seems that no matter what this collective of animals does, it is immediately strawberry gold. As recently as December 21, right before Christmas, Animal Collective has released a live album of their May 26, 2017 show at the College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT. And being the cool, generous musicians they are, the Collective has released it through Band Camp with the all amazing Name Your Price. Although, if you really want to be a giver, all money given to the live album will be donated to the Direct Relief Organization; a group which emits immediate emergency response to disasters such as Hurricanes and country-wide power outages. Check out the band camp post here.

This past February, Animal Collective as also recently released their EP The Painters and went on a spring tour in support of the new album. Deakin, a member of Animal Collective was also reported to be making a solo album as early as 2016. There have been no reports of a release date, but hopefully that will change soon.

Panda Bear has also been working hard on solo projects. Almost 2 years ago, in early December of 2015, Panda Bear released his album Crosswords, which received worldwide praise and also scored him performing spots on the festival circuit. This past November, Panda also announced 12” vinyl EP titled A Day With The Homies which will be released next month! A perfect start for the new year.

After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves. Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements). Being able to write about what has become the main focus in his life only brings more joy to Jeremy as he is extrmely grateful to be a part of mxdwn!
