Recently, Serj Tankian revealed that he was done doing vocals and now is focused on just creating instrumental music. Today, though, with Christmas just around the corner, the frontman of System of the Down is surprising fans with a free music gift; a free download of his song “Industrialized Overload.”
The track is an older song of Tankian. Why he would choose this particular song to share with fans is unknown, but the song as similar vibes of the band fans once knew. It has different instrumentation to it, but fans who follow System of the Down may hear a resemblance to the band somewhere between the notes. It is there, just listen.
Here’s what Tankian had to say about the track. The letter comes off of a newsletter taken from Tankian’s official website;
“Dear Friends,
I just wanted to sincerely thank you all for an incredible year. The responses to our “Intent to Destroy” and “Furious-The Legend of Kolovrat” soundtracks, customized guitar and new jewelry collection have been incredibly overwhelming and encouraging. In the coming months we will also be announcing a new Armenian coffee line called Kavat Coffee, so that you can all become experts at ancient fortune telling by the reading of cups 🙂 I wish you all Happy Holidays and hope the coming year brings us all closer to our visions, dreams and goals
As a token of my appreciation, I have picked a track from my early works called “Industrialized Overload” for FREE download via the button below. It will be available to download through December 31, 2017. Use the password “holiday” to unlock the download. This track actually disturbs my own normal brain patterns so consider this a gift and a warning!
Much love Serj.”
With the special gift that is “Industrialized Overload,” fans hold on the hope of new vocal tracks from the System of the Down frontman because, with life, you may never know.
