The National To Curate Hometown Festival and Release New Video For “Sleep Well Beast”

The National will be organizing Hometown festival and released a music video for “Sleep Well Beast”. This follows the band’s release of a music video for “Dark Side of the Gym” and announcement to perform at Best Kept Secret festival and Nos Alive.

According to the press release, “Homecoming in Association with MusicNOW” is taking place April 28th and 29th in the band’s hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. There will be over 20 artists performing between two stages at Smale Parks, and venues available. The Nationals will also be performing in this festival. Tickets for the event are available at the festival’s website.

Directed by Casey Reas and Graham MacIndoe, the music video shows a variety of color schemes with a blurry effect, as Billboard describes it as “The layers of intense use of color and vibrant photography create a haunting and visually stunning video for the track.” The video continues showing these blurs into flashing pictures of buildings and sights found in the city. Images of nature also become introduced. Nearly half way into the video, the member’s faces are shown with the color schemes continuing.  The music video can be watched below.
