The details of a new album from David Byrne have been published on Amazon. According to a pre-order page on the site, he will release American Utopia on March 9, 2018 through Nonesuch Records.
2018 is shaping up to be a busy and ambitious year for the founder and lead singer of new wave legends Talking Heads. Just today he announced new tour, which will take him up and down the Eastern Seaboard in March, the same month this new album will likely be released. Byrne teased the idea of new music through a post on his site which said “”We’ll be doing some new songs… and many others that will, I assume, be familiar.”
A new full-length from Byrne has been a long time coming, with his last record Love This Giant being collaborative release with the inimitable St. Vincent in 2012. Those two toured behind that record the year after it was released. In 2014 he appeared on an EP with Anna Calvi, contributing to two of the songs.
