Big K.R.I.T. @ Metro (4/28)

Recently, Southern rapper Big K.R.I.T. (King Remembered In Time), announced a substantial 29-city tour to support his third studio album, 4eva Is a Might Long Time. The ‘Heavy Is The Crown Tour’ will commence in March of next year, and close in Chicago at the end of April.

Justin Scott is a gifted lyricist and record producer from Mississippi. While he is a expert MC, K.R.I.T. spent many years in the mixtape arena before he was eventually discovered and signed. However, many might say that these many years spent releasing mixtapes and cultivating a fan base, sharpened his skillset and made him into what he is today.

Scott already has a handful of timeless mixtapes and studio albums under his belt. K.R.I.T. Wuz Here was the trailblazing tape that stirred up the internet, eventually leading to his Def Jam deal. A few years after, he finally revealed his debut album Live from the Underground. This album stayed true to K.R.I.T.’s roots with a genuine hip-hop sound.

While he has a few classic tapes, Big K.R.I.T. is also well-known in the hip-hop game for killing guest features. Whether it was Curren$y’s Top 40 album Pilot Talk, or his appearance on the critically-acclaimed Kush & Orange Juice mixtape by Wiz Khalifa, K.R.I.T. always aims to body every other artist.

His most notable feat, was his ability to go bar-for-bar with all-stars like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, when he was featured on DJ Khaled’s “They Ready”. His style lends to the “Dirty South” style similar to that of UGK and Scarface, and will bring a unique and exciting energy to the Metro.

Big K.R.I.T is sure to give the city of Chicago a night it will not forget with this all ages event. Tickets are $26 in advance, and $31 the day of. If you are a true, day-one K.R.I.T fan, you can also upgrade to VIP for $75, or even Meet & Greet for $125. The doors will open at 6 PM, and the performance will start at 7 PM.
