PJ Harvey Releases New Soundtrack Song For Dark River Watch Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming British thriller Dark River has been released, and it features a haunting new song from the legendary PJ Harvey as reported by Consequence of Sound. The song is a rendition of the English folk tune “An Acre of Land, ” and it features a stunning vocal line from Harvey along with some gentle acoustic guitar and piano playing.  Written and directed by Clio Barnard, Dark River stars Ruth Wilson (The Affair), Mark Stanley (Game of Thrones), and Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings). The film will make its debut in UK cinemas on February 18th. Dark River follows  Alice (Wilson) as she returns to her family home in Yorkshire after 15 years away, which sets off a conflict between her and her older brother Joe (Stanley) and her father (Bean) as she tries to cope with the memories of her traumatic childhood that have been aroused since returning home.

PJ Harvey has made a name for herself during her nearly thirty years in the music business, churning out boldly experimental albums and collaborations ever since the release of her first full-length record in 1992. Earlier this year she released a couple of new tracks on special edition 10” vinyl that was also made available digitally. Harvey’s last full-length release came in 2016 in the form of The Hope Six Demolition Project.
