Taylor Swift @ Soldier Field (6/1 & 6/2)

In the aftermath of her latest release, pop megastar Taylor Swift gears up for a 27-city, stadium, ‘Reputation Tour’ to support her new album. The excursion commences on May 8th, and after hitting major cities such as Chicago, Toronto, and Houston, it will conclude in October. Due to high demand, in early June she will be blessing Chicago with a pair of shows at the expansive Soldier Field.

If you have never heard of Taylor Swift, then there is a high chance you have not been paying close attention to the pop and country music scenes. The 10-time Grammy Award winner has done nothing but sell, and break records over the course of the past few years. With 19 American Music Awards, 21 Billboard Music Awards, and 12 Country Music Association Awards, Taylor Swift’s trophy case is as endless as it is colossal.

Having moved to Nashville, Tennessee when she was only 14, Swift originally began as a country artist. But over the past few years we have seen her musical sound develop into pop, and even electronic/hip-hop in some instances. She was considered exclusively country until the release of 1989 in 2014. She described this album as a “sonically cohesive pop album”. However, her ability to intertwine genres has no effect on the success of her music. In 2015 Swift made Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time. Regardless of sound, Swift produces nothing but catchy and chart-topping hits.

It is safe to say with the building success of Reputation, the following tour will be one of her best, as well as one of the best of the next year. Contrary to the norm, Swift made a partnership deal with Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program to block scalpers and bots from purchasing and reselling her quick-selling tickets.
