Clean Bandit @ Vic Theatre (4/11)

The famed British electronic trio known as Clean Bandit have recently announced a North American tour that will spread across 24 cities. Launching in early 2018, their ‘I Miss You Tour’ will hit major cities such as Los Angeles, Atlanta, Brooklyn, and of course Chicago.

This exciting group began with four artistic musicians. Grace Chatto (cello, percussion, and vocals), and brothers Luke (drums) and Jack Patterson (bass, keys, piano, and vocals). The fourth, Neil Amin-Smith (violinist and pianist) parted in 2016. While on tour, the group features other gifted musicians that are unofficial members, in order to bring their production to life on stage for their fans.

Best known for their Grammy Award-winning single “Rather Be”, the band has far more to offer than that. While this track is a chart-topping hit, Clean Bandit is nowhere near a one-hit wonder. Their artistic vision and skilled musicianship have created hits like the upbeat “Rockabye” featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie. As well as the early favorite in Britain, “Mozart’s House”. You will surely see the electronic crew perform these and many more in April.

While it is true that Clean Bandit is an electronic house group, the music they create stands out within the genre. What makes them so distinctive is their ability to expertly cross classical music with an electronic-pop sound. Citing Jacqueline du Pre (classical cellist) as an influence, and having a lead member that is also a cellist, the group has a unique edge.

Tickets for this electrifying show are already on sale, and all ages are permitted. If you are looking to dance the night away you can arrive at 6:30 PM when the doors open in order to grab a spot for the show. Next April, there probably is no place you’d rather be than the Vic to see Clean Bandit.
