The Residents Announce Winter 2018 Tour Dates

If you haven’t listened to The Residents since their 1974 official release of Meet the Residents, then you are in luck! The Residents have announced, through Brooklyn Vegan, that they will be reissuing their early works dating all the way back to the 1974 debut release. The Residents formed in 1969 and have moved our hearts with their avant-garde, experimental music for years and it seems as if they have yet to take break. Spanning sixty albums alongside other projects, The Residents’ new reissue and spring tour is something to look forward to.

The reissues will include their records, Meet the Residents and their 1976 release Third Reich ‘N Roll. The reissue will be released on January 19th through the incomparable Cherry Red Records. The reissues will contain a lot of new changes. Not only will they remaster their tracks on the two records from the original recorded tapes, but they will also feature outtakes, alternative mixes of specific tracks, non-LP singles, non-LP EPs, never-before-seen liner notes, around 50 unreleased recordings and more! This reissue is chock-full of new goodies!

Even though The Residents are working hard on their soon-to-be-released collection of reissues, they will also be releasing a couple new works in 2018. Coming the new year The Residents will be releasing a new full-length record as well as a second record featuring solely Residents covers made by their own fans. In support of their upcoming reissues and new records, the Residents will be holding a spring tour in 2018. In this tour, though, lies a very special New York City Show at the Murmrr Theatre on April 22nd. If you want to grab your ticket as soon as possible, head here for the November 17th all ages ticket sale at 10am. Jeremy Bacharach: Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy has always been a lover of music. After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves. Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements). Being able to write about what has become the main focus in his life only brings more joy to Jeremy as he is extrmely grateful to be a part of mxdwn!
