Brandi Carlile Announces New Album By the Way, I Forgive You for February 2018 Release

The Washington-bred Americana artist, Brandi Carlile, will release a new album this coming February. The album, titled By the Way, I Forgive You, is a follow up to her Grammy nominated album, The Firewatcher’s Daughter, which was released in 2015, and her recent charity album War child, Cover Stories: Brandi Carlile Celebrates 10 Years of The Story. Cover Stories marks the 10 year anniversary of her hit album The Story. For the album, Carlile teamed up with bandmates Phil (bass) and Tim Hanseroth (guitar) along with iconic artists like Dolly Parton, Pearl Jam, Kris Kristofferson, Jim James and the Avvett brothers. All proceeds went to the British Charity War Child.

Her forthcoming album will be distrusted on February 16th. Fans can preorder it now on her site. Her single, “The Joke,” is out now! “The Joke,” is a sweet and soulful hit in the singer-songwriter style. Carlile lays her vocal arrangement effortlessly over a simple arrangement of violin, acoustic guitar, and percussion. Her voice, which bears an uncanny resemblance to that of Melanie Safka, is sweet in all its moments of sadness. Like the great  Patsy Cline, Carlile is able to create a whole fusion genre that combines elements of folk, country, pop and soul.
