The Bug Releases New Songs “Bad” Featuring Flowdan and “Get Out Of The Way” Featuring Killa P and Irah

Kevin Martin, known by his alias The Bug, has announced the release two new songs: “Bad” featuring Flowdan and “Get Out of the Way” featuring Killa P and Irah. The songs will be released digitally on November 17th and physically on a 12” vinyl on December 8th via Ninja Tune. Martin has already dropped “Bad” via a variety of streaming platforms in advance of the single’s release. The song rides a dense electronic beat through the sampling and layering of a single drum machine beat while Flowdan lays down a series of reggae inflicted riddims describing his upbringing in East London. The track’s direct and straightforward approach gives it a lived-in and edgy feeling as if Flowdan is speaking directly to the listener.

Martin has been a staple in the underground UK music scene for over twenty years, frequently collaborating with other artists in other offshoot projects such as King Midas Sound and the recently released collaboration with Dylan Carlson. After six-year hiatus from recording, Martin returned to activity with 2014’s Angles and Devils which featured plenty of his trademark combination of experimental electronics, aggro-rap, jazz, and dancehall.
