Bikini Kill Perform for the First Time in 20 Years

The legendary band Bikini Kill came together last night at the The Kitchen in New York City for their first performance together in 20 years. The performance was the first real time the band had taken the stage as a group since they broke up in 1997. The reunion came together on the final day of a three-night event surrounding the release of Pitchfork editor Jenn Pelly’s new book.

The band hasn’t released a lot of new music since their breakup of course but In 2014, Bikini Kill reissued their 1993 album Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah. The following year, they reissued their demo tape Revolution Girl Style Now, which also included the previously unreleased tracks “Playground” and “Ocean Song.”
