Joan as Police Woman Announce New Album Damn Devotion for February 2018 Release And Release New Song “Warning Bell”

With a beautiful voice and lyrics people can relate to, Joan Wasser has become a singer and songwriter to look out for. She has already being acknowledged as a honest lyricist who has created songs that hit straight to the heart. Wasser’s two album The Classic, which came out in 2014 and her 2011 The Deep Field has since brought Wasser in the limelight . Now, with her band Joan As Police Woman, returns with another solo album titled Damned Devotion which will be released next year on February 9th via Play It Again Sam. and it appears to be her best one yet.

The first track that is being shared off the album is titled “Warning Bell,” and is being described by Joan as “being a romantic and the naiveté that goes along with it.” A heartbreaking song that refuses to give up. The song, at its core is a romantic song about falling in and out of love. There’s sadness dripping from Wasser’s voice as she keeps repeating “I never see it coming.” Though there’s love within the lyrics here, it seems as though at the end of the track, she is destined to walk the same path and that is alone. One wonders if love will be waiting around the corner and we can hear it all over again. “Warning Bell” is truly a song that is worth repeating especially on those lonely nights.

Wasser is famous for collaborating with artists as diverse as Rufus Wainwright, Lou Reed and Beck and since releasing her last album, Wasser has worked alongside fashion designers Viktor & Rolf as well and continuing growing the list of musicians to include Sufjan Stevens, Lau, RZA and Daniel Johnston. “I say yes to almost everything,” she admits. “I just want to be making music all the time. I can comfortably say that music has saved my life and continues to save my life. I am a devotee. It’s not something I can even choose or not choose, it’s just what is.”
