Robin Schulz @ Concord Music Hall (11/22)

With his sense for huge hits, and accumulation of hundreds of millions of streams across the world, Robin Schulz has made history for German-based artists. He now brings his successful sound to Chicago this November for a show at the Concord Music Hall.

German star Robin Schulz is a music producer/DJ from Lower Saxony, born in 1987. After being attracted to DJ’ing at a young age, he began to play at clubs as young as 20 years old. He soon developed his love for working the turntables into producing electronic dance music, and with practice, he sharpened his skills to the point where every track he touched exploded worldwide. It all started when, his now multiplatinum remix of “Waves” by Mr. Probz, turned them both into international sensations overnight. The hit was not only big in the U.S., but it went #1 in 6 different countries in Europe. Even Schulz’s next single, “Prayer in C” was a megahit, going #1 in 10 countries. Soon after all the initial success, Schulz released his debut album Prayer, that is now certified platinum. Not too bad for the first few years of a career.

Now, after several successful albums and singles, Schulz has not changed the formula that earned him so much success. There are many producers that sound the same, or have not yet found their own sound. However, this is not the case with Robin Schulz. He created the sound he enjoyed, stuck to it, and the world loves it. Schulz’s music can be categorized as EDM (electronic dance music), or house music. It is very melodic, with a fantastically bouncy beat, that has an easy to digest pop-house sound. It is no surprise that with a formula such as this, his music has reached dancefloors across the world.

Schulz claims that through all the success, it is important to keep having fun with the music and the creation process. He even still has the same friends as when he started. There is still much more success to come for Schulz, you will not want to miss the fun atmosphere he will bring next month to the Concord.
