Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of S U R V I V E Release New Song “Soldier” from Stranger Things 2 Soundtrack

Just a week ago, Emmy-winning, Grammy-nominated composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of U.S. synth band S U R V I V E were already making mouths water at the first taste of the Stranger Things 2 soundtrack, with “Walkin’ In Hawkins.”

The analog synth track was the first sign of what was to come in the upcoming season. The duo suggested in a statement that they hoped to balance tradition and innovation in the music for the new season.

“In Season 2, we’re introducing new styles of composition, while still revisiting old themes when appropriate,” they said. “We’ve created new elements that are necessary to support the story, but still want to remain true to the sound of Season 1.”

Now they’re back and they’ve released another doozy. “Soldier” sits, according to the official tracklisting, almost right in the middle. We can only wonder how the track will be used in the coming season.

The hit Netflix show is coming back to your TVs or wherever you plan on watching the show on October 27th, but the 34-track strong soundtrack will be released on October 20 via Lakeshore Records and Invada, digitally with physical versions coming thereafter.

Dixon and Stein are also slated to perform the music of Stranger Things live, with a pair of shows in North America in November as well as four European performances planned for April, 2018.
