Godflesh Announces New Album Post Self for November 2017 Release

Godflesh, the English industrial metal pioneer group from Birmingham has revealed that their new album titled Post Self will finally be released to the world on November 17th via Shellshock. The record will consist of 10 tracks unlike the band’s previously released music.

Two years in the making, the album explores a different side of Godflesh. According to a statement, the band is moving away from metal to “experiment with industrial and post-punk sounds, exploring what inspired them in the first place.” Less metal than fans are used to, the band is rocking out an album influenced by late 70s, early 80s post-punk and industrial music. Lyrically, Post Self deals out themes like anxiety, depression, fear, mortality and both paternal and maternal relationships.

A World Lit Only By Fire was Godflesh last album and was released back in October of 2014 and had marked the band’s first album in 14 years. It was a grand entrance back into the music world and it was released through frontman Justin K. Broadrick’s own Avalanche Recordings.

Post Self track listing:

1. Post Self
2. Parasite
3. No Body
4. Mirror of Finite Light
5. Be God
6. The Cyclic End
7. Pre Self
8. Mortality Sorrow
9. In Your Shadow
10. The Infinite End

Godflesh was formed in 1988 by Justin Broadrick and G.C. Green. The band disbanded in 2002  and the two members pursued various other projects before reforming in 2010.
