Major Lazer on Day 2 of HARD Summer Music Festival 2016

Major Lazer, who will be headlining in the first Botanica Music Festival in 2018,  has released a music video for “Particula”. The video was shot in South Africa. The track features collaborations with South African filmmaker Adriaan Louw. There are also appearances by DJ Maphorisa and Nasty C, Nigerian rapper Ice Prince, Nigerian-American recording artist Jidenna, and Patoranking.

According to the press release, Louw commented on the making of the video saying “I’ve always wanted to shoot a film like this in Johannesburg. He continues by saying “It was creating an ideal world within Joburg that was based in the 70s. I wanted it to feel like we were shooting a documentary in the of the culture that could have been in a city where disco, funk and Fela Kuti were everywhere.”

The video begins on the road and shows the artists roaming around the city, in houses, on top of buildings in the car etc. Near the end of the video, everyone joins together dancing and having a good time. The video can be watched below.
