Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of S U R V I V E Announce Stranger Things Season 2 Soundtrack and Share New Song “Walkin’ In Hawkins”

The hit Netflix show Stranger Things is gearing up for its second season, and along with the thrill of a whole new set of episodes following the mysterious happenings of a small Indiana town is the promise of a new soundtrack. That day is here because according to Pitchfork, the two composers of the soundtrack, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of the synthy post-rock band S U R V I V E have announced the new soundtrack.

Stranger Things Season 2 OST will be available digitally on October 20 through Invada and Lakeshore. The physical release of the album will be at a later date, which is not yet disclosed. The album will be released on vinyl, CD and cassette (for those of you who really want to recreate the period of Stranger Things).

Along with the announcement of the soundtrack the duo released the first sample – a fairly short song titled “Walkin’ In Hawkins.” The songs is very reminiscent of the first season’s Emmy-winning theme, with swirling keyboard lines sketching out an eerie soundscape.

It was announced that Dixon and Stein would return to helm the soundtrack for Stranger Things 2 back in March.

There is much to look forward to in season two, as the creators and actors have dropped few spoilers, including that there will be justice for Barb. Last we saw Barb, it wasn’t looking too good so it’ll be fascinating to see the way in which justice is served.
