Indie folk group Fleet Foxes have taken to their Facebook to announce news of their upcoming EP called The Electric Lady Sessions. Named after the studio in New York that it was recorded in, the EP will be available exclusively at independent record stores starting on Record Store Day’s Black Friday, Nov. 24. The four live tracks from Crack Up featured on the project were mixed by producer Beatriz Artola. Click here to find a participating record store near you.

Record store day began exactly 10 years ago when independent store owners and employees gathered together to celebrate the United State’s 1400 independently owned record companies. Now, every continent except Antarctica celebrates the Record Store Day “holiday.”

Fleet Foxes just released their third studio album Crack Up in June and headlined San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival this summer. Following the unfortunate pass of legend Tom Petty, Fleet Foxes dropped cover song in honor of the late singer. Click here to listen to “Don’t Come Around Here No More.”

McKenzie Dillon: University of Nevada, Reno Alumna. I graduated with a major in writing and a minor in journalism. I enjoy reading, writing, and listening to music of course. I was raised in the bay area, and am thrilled to be living back in California. Catch me at your local music festival, because there's nothing better than laying back in the grass and listening to your favorite bands or discovering new ones.
