Queens of the Stone Age Mash Up “Feel Good Hit of the Summer” with Foo Fighters’ “Everlong” at CalJam 2017

This weekend at CalJam 2017, Queens of the Stone Age mixed their song, “Feel Good Hit of the Summer,” with The Foo Fighters hit, “Everlong.” Queens of the Stone Age have been known for their ability to seamlessly weave clips of other artists work within their own songs. According to NME, they have done so with the Gorillaz song “Clint Eastwood,” the Amy Winehouse song “Rehab,” and the INSX song “The Devil Inside,” just to name a few.

This time, they briefly meshed the chorus of “Everlong,” into the middle of their Rated R song. On their Rated R Deluxe album, the group mashes it with another one of their songs called, “In the Fade.”

CalJam also saw some unbelievable mash ups by The Foo Fighters themselves. The headliners, and curators of the festival mashed up Dick Dale’s ““Miserlou,” with Ted Nugent’s “Cat Scratch Fever,” Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust,” Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water,” and Harry Belafonte’s “Banana Boat Song (Day-O).” On top of the incredible performances, the festival featured carnival rides, a water park, an outdoor movie theater, a skate park, a rock and roll museum, a  skate ramp, and a recording studio.
