Las Vegas Festival Terrorist Rented Hotel Rooms Overlooking Grant Park, May Have Targeted Lollapalooza

This week, the horrible shooting in Las Vegas at the Route 91 Harvest Festival has dominated the news cycle, whether its details about the shooter or the issue of gun control, every news outlet has been consumed by the shooting. Now, more disturbing details are emerging about other potential targets for the shooter.

The tragedy unfolded in Las Vegas at the Route 91 Harvest Festival while Jason Aldean was performing his set. The shooter opened fire on the crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay, killing 59 and injuring over 500. However, it appears that the shooter was looking into other concerts to carry out his killing. It was already reported that police are investigating into whether the shooter was targeting the Life is Beautiful Festival, after discovering he rented rooms through Airbnb that overlooked the festival grounds.

Apparently, though, that wasn’t the only option. It has been reported that the shooter reserved two rooms in Chicago at the Blackstone hotel, specifically through the span of the Lollapalooza festival. He specifically recorded a “view room,” overlooking the festival grounds in Grant Park. A spokesman for the Chicago police told the Chicago Tribunethat the department is aware of the report and has been in contact with their “federal partner.”

Artists such as Muse, Lorde, The xx, Chance the Rapper, Arcade Fire and several more were in attendance at this year’s Lollapalooza. Rosanne Cash recently urged country artists to stand up to the NRA in the wake of the shooting, and Foster the People refused to play “Pumped Up Kicks,” following the shooting.
