William Patrick Corgan Releases Ethereal New Video for “The Spaniards”

“Take me as I am” is just a glimpse of the beautifully composed lyrics in a new single by Smashing Pumkin’s frontman, William Patrick Corgan. He shared “The Spaniards” with all of his fans today. It is the second track off his forthcoming solo album Ogilala. This is just a teaser for his album which is set to be released on October 13 through BMG. You can start pre-ordering his new music through their website now. Corgan also shared an accompanying music video for “The Spaniards” that can be seen below.

The video was directed by longtime collaborator Linda Strawberry. It features scenes from Corgan’s recently announced silent film, Pillbox. That short film is set to the music of Ogilala. Strawberry helped Corgan with both video productions after collaborating with him for years.

A teaser for Pillbox was released. The entire film isn’t set to be released until October 1 at 7:00 pm (CET). It is premiering at four different sold-out screenings. One is in London, and the others are in North America in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York.

This Sunday Corgan will debut more new material from his upcoming solo-album. The performance is going to be in Berlin, but if you aren’t going to be able to catch him live, everything will be streamed here.

Last month Corgan announced that he was working on new music for a solo album. He released the single, “Aeronaut” last week. That was produced by Rick Rubin at Shangri La Studios in Malibu. Corgn’s new solo-album is full of his distinctive vocals and melodies with acoustic guitar, piano, and other string instruments.

Next month, following the release of his new album, Corgan will take on a North American tour starting in Brooklyn, New York and ending on the other side of the nation in Los Angeles, California. There are already sold-out shows at his four night stay at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

He will be featuring all of his new music from Ogilala and some older music from The Smashing Pumpkins. A complete list of tour dates and venues can be found below.
