Ministry Signs With Nuclear Blast Records

There is change in the air for the industrial metal act known as Ministry. The Chicago based metal band revealed today that they have signed a worldwide deal with the independent record label Nuclear Blast Records which is home in Germany.

The band has finished recording their new album AmeriKKKant which is stated to be released sometime in the first quarter of 2018. The upcoming record will feature guest appearances from DJ Swamp (Beck), Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory), Arabian Prince (N.W.A.) and Lord Of The Cello. Check back here for more details.

Ever since Al Jourgensen founded the group in the 80s, he has been combining a variety of different elements to create an instant recognizable sound and also had the opportunity to influence many other bands. Ministry has released over 12 albums including Filth Pig, The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste, Psalm 69, and From Beer To Eternity that features powerhouse hits such as “Just One Fix,” “Thieves,” and “Jesus Built My Hotrod.” The band has six Grammy nominations to date, over 3 million records sold and more than 2,000 live performances as well as being featured in a variety of hit soundtrack such as the Hurt Locker, Artificial Intelligence, Matrix and more. They are indeed pioneers of their genre.

Back in 2016, Jourgensen revealed plans to make a new studio album with Ministry which would follow the band’s 2013’s hit From Beer to Eternity, even though the band previously said that there would not further records after the death of longtime guitarist Mike Scaccia in 2012. Luckily for hardcore fans, the release of Ministry’s new record, AmeriKKKant is just over the horizon.

“This album, AmeriKKKant,” stated the founder of Ministry,. “Will provide FEMA type relief for the devastation ‘Hurricane Cheeto’ has brought upon us.”

Jourgensen’s side project, Surgical Meth Machine released its self-titled debut album, which was recorded in Jourgensen’s home studio in Burbank, California, last year in April through the new Nuclear Blast label.
