Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds Announces New Album Who Built The Moon? for November 2017 Release

English rock band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have teamed up with producer and composer David Holmes for the group’s upcoming new album entitled Who Built The Moon?, the highly anticipated follow-up to their last studio album Chasing Yesterday from 2015. Their newest project will feature 11 new songs and a bonus track, with contributions from Paul Weller on the organ, and Johnny Marr on the guitar and harmonica.

“People are going to be surprised,” said Holmes. “I think people love Noel and they’re desperate for him to make a really big, bold, up-tempo beast of a record – a lot of Noel’s music is quite mid-tempo. This one is fun.”

Be on the lookout for Who Built The Moon? to hit the shelves on Friday November 24th, 2017 via Sour Mash. It marks the first time Gallagher has written an entire album solely from a studio, going back and fourth between Belfast and London alongside David Holmes.

“David played me the sample, so I worked out the chords and we demoed just a few, short minutes of it, taking it away on tour and playing with it,” Gallagher explained, in a comment about the album’s track called “Black and White Sunshine.” “When it became a song back in Belfast it was so joyous, I just had to do it justice. What’s more joyous than being in love, baby? So, I wrote a song about love and it’s one of the best things that I’ve ever done.”

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will be going on a month long tour around Northern America to promote the forthcoming album, and pre-sale tickets will be available starting Wednesday, September 27th at 10 a.m.. Earlier this month, the singer who is a longtime local to the area, headlined the Manchester Arena reopening concert, where proceeds went to a memorial fund benefiting the victims of the attack.
