Dale Crover of The Melvins Will Release His New Single “Thunder Pinky” Literally Pressed Onto a Playable Drum Cymbal

The Melvins’ Dale Crover has released a new single “Thunder Pinky”. This will be a part of the solo debut The Fickle Finger of Fate. The artist has also released “Hillbilly Math” while the album was in production.

According to the press release, the single “is a playable, custom-designed and lathe cut 6.9” splash cymbal, hand-crafted by sub-amateur cymbalsmith Michael Dixon.” The artist had shown how the cymbal had worked into the song, with a switch between the record playing and the artist talking about the single briefly. While the record is playing in the beginning, there’s a narration that repeats the records name and explains what it is. The video and the image of the cymbal are shown below.

The artist will also be going on a tour from September 22nd to November 10th. Between the dates from Nashville, TN to Fortitude Valley, Australia, there are a couple of days skipped but the performances are mostly back to back.The Melvins will also be joined by Crover’s other band Redd Kross.
