They say any press is good press, but that might not be the case this time around. Quicksand guitarist, Tom Capone, was reportedly arrested this past Tuesday while on tour, which forced the post-hardcore band to play as a trio for a few shows. And now, the charges.
According to Lambgoat, Capone, 47, was booked in Maricopa County, AZ on charges of “shoplifiting-concealment” and “resist arrest-physical force.” Not great. The band was scheduled to play in Phoenix that night, and they band ended up performing without their guitarist for the night.
The band, and Capone, have yet to comment, although it’s nearly guaranteed that this story isn’t over, as more details will surely follow. Quicksand also recently announced their third LP, Interiors (the first in 22 years) along with a new track “Illuminant.”
Quicksand first formed back in 1990 out of New York, and have three studio albums and 9 Eps under their belt. The band made enough of a name for themselves to tour alongside legendary bands such as Rage Against the Machine, Anthrax and Helemt, just to mention a few. The band first split in 1995, but reunited in 2012 to perform on the Jimmy Fallon Show, and have slowly ramped up activity leading to their upcoming album out this November and their subsequent fall tour.
