Prophets of Rage Stand Together in New Song “Strength in Numbers”

The self-titled album for American Rap group Prophets of Rage is set to be released through Fantasy Records and be available to stream and or buy at the end of the fall. The supergroup has released three songs so far off the upcoming new album and today has given yet another taste of what is in store for fans. The fourth track, titled “Strength in Numbers,” is now available just a week in advance of the album’s debut.

According to guitarist, Tom Morello, the single “‘Strength In Numbers’ is a Molotov Marshall Stack Manifesto. We stand together or we fall apart. The world is in chaos, but if we’re gonna go down we’re gonna go down together…and we’re gonna go down swinging. The question remains: can we be as united in the streets as we are in the mosh pit? Let’s find out.”

The supergroup that is Prophets of Rage came together back in 2016 and includes three members of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave as well as two members of Public Enemy and Cypress Hill.

Discussing the band’s influences, band member Chuck D (Public Enemy) expressed that “The music is the passport to the world. It’s not always a given to have members who want to go where few have gone.”

Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, Chuck D, B-Real and DJ Lord have all enlisted the help of Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen) to produce the album which also features the band’s previous shared tracks, “Radical Eyes,” “Living on the 110” and “Unfuck the World.” The album consists of 12 tracks all recorded during months long sessions that began after the band’s 2016 Make America Rage Again Tour and features a cover art designed by Shepard Fairey.
