Death From Above Release Blisteringly-Paced Thrasher “Holy Books”

In true punk rock fashion, Toronto dance punk duo Death from Above (f.k.a. Death from Above 1979) declares sacrilege first and asks question later in their new single “Holy Books.”

The track is the third single to be released from the duo’s upcoming third LP Outrage! Is Now. The other two tracks include the frenetic and high-pitched “Never Swim Alone” and the piano-led disco-metal stomp “Freeze Me.”

Outrage! Is Now would be a follow up to 2014’s The Physical World, and will drop just next week via Last Gang/Warner Bros.

Death from Above will launch a North American headlining tour in support of Outrage! Is Now throughout October and November, kicking off at Chicago’s Riot Fest September 15th.

DFA, composed of Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler, had originally made waves in the early 2000’s by mashing danceable garage rock grooves with punk rock and metal instrumentation, culminating in their phenomenal debut LP You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine. They then went through a short breakup and hiatus to follow the record up, eventually releasing in 2014 The Physical World.

“We are committed to evolution,” said Grainger regarding the new LP. :This record is the sound of the two us pushing at the walls. We want there to be space, surprises, and action!”
