Deradoorian Releases New Song “Mountainside” and Announces New Mini Album Eternal Recurrence for October 2017 Release

As reported by Pitchfork, Angel Deradoorian, known by the mononym of Deradoorian, has released details for a new mini-album, Eternal Recurrence, set to be released on October 6th via Anitcon Records.

This marks the first release from Deradoorian since 2015’s critically acclaimed The Expanding Flower Planet. Co-produced with Ben Greenberg, Eternal Recurrence builds upon the whimsical and psychedelic work of Deradoorian’s past solo releases and her work in the Dirty Projectors and Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks.

She has also released the first single from the mini-album, the dreamy piano-driven “Mountainside.” Musically speaking the song’s arrangement is simple, relying on Deradoorian’s powerful and dreamy vocals alongside a sleek bit of piano playing, with a flute thrown in for good measure. The whole recording is drenched with vintage reverb that recalls vintage sounds from the 60’s and 70’s. Lyrically, the track deals with being alone in the comfort of nature.

You can listen to “Mountainside” in the player below.

02 Return-Transcend
03 Ausar Temple
