This weekend was a Taylor Swift fan’s seemingly perfect weekend, after the pop star debuted her new music video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” the newest song from her upcoming album Reputation, at MTV’s Video Music Awards last night. She has also partnered up with Ticketmaster to create “Taylor Swift Tix powered by Ticketmaster Verified Fan,” a method in buying concert tickets she called “new, better, and fun.”
You basically register on Taylorswift.com and obtain access to a “portal” where you choose which city you’d see her concert in. Once this step is completed, you get placed in a virtual line and participate in “unique activities,” which either moves you forward or backward on the handy progress bar. Tweet about her new music to receive a small boost, and purchase her album for the biggest boost.
The video explaining the new program claims the purpose is to make sure Taylor Swift mega-fans get priority access to tickets, and bots/scalpers don’t. Click below to watch the video for yourself.
Taylor Swift recently won a highly publicized lawsuit where she was counter suing man who groped her at a meet-and-greet a few years ago. Her payout was a mere $1, and she may have made a reference to the situation in her newest music video, where she is sitting in a tub of pearls and one stray dollar bill.
